Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Pairlyx (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including interviewers who create an account and candidates who join a session through a shared link.

Pairlyx provides a real-time collaborative environment for technical interviews: a shared code editor, an optional system-design canvas, code execution, and an AI-generated summary of the session once it ends. Candidates join a session through a link shared by the interviewer and do not need to create an account or install anything.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Accounts are created and authenticated through our identity provider (Clerk), by email or Google sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

Pairlyx is offered in multiple plans with different monthly interview limits and features; current plan names, prices, and limits are shown on the billing page in your dashboard. Free-plan usage is subject to a monthly interview limit. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis and processed by Stripe; you can view invoices and cancel a subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal, linked from your billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not issue partial refunds for unused time.

We will give at least 30 days' notice before any pricing change takes effect for existing subscribers.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Conduct interviews without the candidate's knowledge or consent
• Record or distribute session content without all participants' consent
• Share access credentials or candidate links beyond the intended session participants
• Submit code, content, or prompts that are illegal, abusive, or infringe on third-party rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service
• Use the AI-generated review to make final hiring decisions without human oversight

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

You retain ownership of all content you create on the Service, including interview sessions, notes, templates, and edits to the AI-generated review. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process and store this content solely to provide the Service to you.

Candidates who join a session via a shared link do not create an account, and their session contributions (code, canvas, and any name they are asked to provide) become part of the interview record owned by the interviewer who created the session. It is the interviewer's responsibility to inform candidates that a session is being recorded and processed, per Section 5.

At the end of a session, a summary review is generated by sending the code and canvas snapshot to a third-party large language model (currently NVIDIA's NIM API). This review is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute a professional assessment, legal advice, or a hiring recommendation, and it may contain errors, omissions, or biases inherent to AI systems.

You are solely responsible for any hiring decisions made using the Service. Pairlyx accepts no liability for outcomes resulting from reliance on an AI-generated review.

Some plans allow you to invite team members to share access to your interviews. As the plan owner, you are responsible for who you invite and for removing access when a team member should no longer have it. Invited members can see interviews and data associated with the account they are invited to.

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uptime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. For material changes that affect paid subscribers, we will provide at least 14 days' notice.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pairlyx shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or hiring-related outcomes. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
